Annual spring cleanup scheduled for Hagerstown

Hagerstown's annual spring residential curbside bulk trash pickup begins next week, as does the city's yard waste recycling program.

The yard waste recycling program begins with a Wednesday morning pickup, and continues with weekly pickups through November, according to information released by city officials.

Yard waste is to be set out after 4 p.m. Tuesdays in paper yard waste bags or reusable containers. Small branches can be bundled with twine. Plastic bags will not be collected.

For the spring bulk trash pickup, collection will be limited to the following items: appliances, furniture, beds, mattresses and similar items that are not normally picked up in the regular trash collection.
