Martha G. Strite

Martha G. Strite, 90, of 21060 Leiters Mill Road, Hagerstown, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at her home.

Born Dec. 27, 1910, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Anna Good Horst Strite.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Miller's Mennonite Church near Leitersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Aden M. Strite, whom she married Nov. 28, 1934; 24 nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Miller's Mennonite Church near Leitersburg. Miller's Mennonite Church Ministry will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m.; and Thursday at 9 a.m. at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Fred E. Mason Jr.

MYERSVILLE, Md. - Fred E. "Red" Mason Jr., 44, of 12125 Loy Wolfe Road, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at his home.

Born July 20, 1956, in Bethesda, Md., he was the son of Fred E. Mason Sr., Josephine L. Willard Myers and stepfather, Bernard E. Myers, all of Myersville.

He was employed by C.V. Warehouse in Hagerstown, Waynesboro Hospital and Frick Co. of Waynesboro, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Travis L. Mason of Waynesboro; one sister, Brenda Anderson of Congers, Ga.; one brother, Robert F. Mason of Boonsboro; two nieces and four nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Church of God, 24107 Foxville Road, in Smithsburg. Pastor Gregory L. Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Smithsburg at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg.




Janice E. Geisbert

MYERSVILLE, Md. - Janice Elizabeth Geisbert, 66, of 10612 Highland School Road, died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born May 5, 1934 in Harmony, Md., she was the daughter of the late Leo and Ruth Amelia Kuhn Brandenburg.

She was a member of Mount Bethel United Methodist Church in Foxville, Md.

She was a member of VFW 3285 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin Michael Geisbert, whom she married Dec. 31, 1979; a daughter, Yvonne Michele Powell of Hagerstown; four stepchildren, Lenny Geisbert and Rick Geisbert, both of Frederick, Md., Kerri Korrell of Thurmont, Md. and Lorri Brown of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Ellen Ruth Baltzley, Doris Faye Keller and Connie Louise Hoffman, all of Frederick; a brother, Leo C. Brandenburg of Myersville; two grandsons; 11 stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church, 14110 Stottlemyer Road in Foxville. The Rev. William C. Kercheval will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Bethel Cemetery in Foxville.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert E. Dailey and Son Funeral Home, 1201 N. Market St. in Frederick.

J. Irene Goes

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - J. Irene Goes, 76, of Penn Hall Nursing Center, who died Sunday, March 11, 2001, was survived by a brother, John C. Goes of Sequim, Wash.




Charles R. Germroth

FREDERICK, Md. - Charles Robert Germroth, 47, of Frederick, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.

Born June 19, 1953, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Phyllis E. Titlow Germroth.

He is survived by one daughter, Nicki Germroth of Frederick; three sisters, Dianne E. Pryor of Myersville, Md., Sandra C. Young of Germantown, Md. and Carol Baker of Annapolis; and his stepmother, Edith Germroth of Hancock.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grace Brethren Church, corner of First and Spruce streets, Hagerstown. The Rev. J. William Kesecker will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville.




G. Francis Caton

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - G. Francis "Dutch" Caton, 86, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born April 13, 1914, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late George William and Reginia Ramsburg Caton.

He attended local schools.

He was an insurance representative for Lincoln National Life since 1954.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

He was past president of Martinsburg Kiwanis Club; and Martinsburg Community Fund.

He had been director of the Housing Authority; director of M & F Bank; and F & M Bank, and later its director emeritus.

He was a former member of Officer of Junior Board of Trade; Martinsburg-Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce; and Exhausted Roosters and Tuscarora Kurnals.
