"The Dish" (PG-13) - It's July 1969, the eve of the Apollo 11 launch, and NASA has turned to Parkes, New South Wales, home of one of the world's most powerful satellite dishes, to provide back-up power for the history-making mission. Gearing up for the launch is the cardigan-sporting director of operations, Cliff Buxton, and his motley crew of electronics whiz kids, including the ever-acerbic Mitch and the shy Glenn. Sam Neill, Patrick Warburton, Roy Billing and Bille Brown star in this comedy.

Eric Redman, 16, who lives near Washington, D.C., was surprised that he was selected to appear on the show.

He has performed for the Kunta Kinte Festival at St. Johns College in Annapolis and at the Little Theater of Alexandria, Va., as well as at local talent shows and conventions.

Application deadline is Saturday, April 14.

Students ages 10 to 18 may apply for programs in dance, jazz music, brass ensemble and middle school band. The schedule will include performances and presentations by professional artists, individual and group practices, and a chance to meet and interact with other young artists.

Cost for the dance and jazz programs are $950 with the residential option or $650 if the student does not stay overnight. Both classes are from Sunday, July 8, to Friday, July 20. The brass ensemble program, from July 8, to Friday, July 13, is $475 with the residential option or $325 if the student does not stay overnight. The middle school band program, from Sunday, July 15, to July 20, is $475 with residential option and $325 if the student does not stay overnight.
