Harris worth the extra effort

Baltimore Ravens defensive back Corey Harris will receive the Extra Effort Award at the 38th Annual Ravens Roost No. 7 Double EE Banquet and Dinner Dance on March 24 at the Four Points Sheraton in Hagerstown.

Harris was the Ravens' third-leading tackler in the postseason and in the Super Bowl, which Baltimore won 34-7 over the New York Giants.

He had 34 tackles, two interceptions and four pass deflections during the regular season.

The Ravens Roost will also honor the 37 members of the All-Washington County High School Football Team and the county's Co-Coaches of the Year - North Hagerstown's Glenn Cross and South Hagerstown's Greg Kellick.

One member of the All-County Team will receive the $2,000 Gus Baker Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship has been awarded each year since 1990 and was renamed last year in honor of the former Ravens Roost president.

Other members of the Baltimore Ravens organization and more former Baltimore Colts will be in attendance. The Vince Lombardi Trophy, presented each year to the Super Bowl champion, will also be on hand.
