Maryland man hospitalized after Tuesday police pursuit

FREDERICK, Md. - A 100 mph chase that ended in a crash into a guard rail early Tuesday sent a Silver Spring, Md., man to the hospital with a broken leg.

Maryland State Police in Frederick joined Montgomery County Police in the 1 a.m. pursuit of Peter Lee, 27, whose vehicle crossed the county line at the Monocacy River on Interstate 270 at a high rate of speed, police alleged.

The officers pursued the vehicle, which was running without headlights, westbound on I-70 where it ran into the guard rail in an attempt to exit onto Alt. U.S. 40.

Lee was charged with speeding, fleeing and eluding, and turning off headlights to avoid detection, police said.

He was listed in fair condition at Washington County hospital Tuesday evening.

Pa. pair treated, released following one-vehicle crash

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - A woman and a child were injured Monday night in a single vehicle accident at 9:06 p.m. in the 6600 block of White Church Road, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Trina Ott, 25, of Shippensburg, was taken to Chambersburg Hospital along with a 4-year-old girl who was a passenger in the 1997 Saturn, police said.

Both were treated and released, hospital officials said Tuesday.

Police said Ott lost control of her vehicle, ran off the west berm and hit two trees and a gas pipe.

Man remains in hospital after Sunday accident

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Two people were injured Sunday morning in Fulton County when a vehicle ran off South Madden Road and hit a tree, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Police said Sherry L. Meuser, 48, of 3127 Doran Road, Three Springs, Pa., was traveling through a left curve when her car skidded across the highway and hit the tree.

Both she and John Meuser, age unknown, were taken to Fulton County Medical Center for treatment. John Meuser was later transferred to Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown, Pa. His condition was unavailable Tuesday evening.

Sherry Meuser was treated and released, a Fulton County Medical Center spokesman said.

County deputies probe theft, vandalism in area

A 1980 Harley-Davidson motorcycle valued at $4,500 was stolen from a shed Monday at 14005 Mercersburg Road, according to Washington County Sheriff's deputies.

The tag on the motorcycle was Md. 516 D54.

HEIGHT="6" ALT="* "> The windshield of a Dodge Neon parked at 10834 Downsville Pike was broken out Monday evening, according to Washington County Sheriff's deputies.

Damage was estimated at $300.
