Carolyn R. Irby

Carolyn Rebecca Eckard Irby, 47, of 10827 Oak Forest Drive, Hagerstown, who died Sunday, March 4, 2001, was a 1971 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.




Roxanne C. Naugle

CASCADE - Roxanne Carol Naugle, 49, of Eyler Avenue, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Smithsburg Library Building Fund, 20 E. Water St., Smithsburg, MD 21783.




Louise S. Funk

Louise Seibert Funk, 90, of 928 St. Clair St. in Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Washington County Hospital.

Born July 29, 1910, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Zuingli F. and Ella Rubeck.

Her husband, Lester Franklin Funk, died April 6, 1988.

She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas F. Funk and John R. Funk, both of Hagerstown; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Resh.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship. The Rev. Leon Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Broadfording Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Walter I. Wagaman

McKNIGHTSTOWN, Pa. - Walter I. Wagaman, 82, of McKnightstown, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at his home.

Born Nov. 5, 1918, in Mt. Joy Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles Lewis Wagaman and Martha Naugle.

His wife, Dorothy Pryor Wagaman, died Aug. 13, 1970.

He is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Jeffcoat and Dorothy Jeffcoat, both of Gettysburg, Diane Lowe of Fairfield, Pa., and Charlotte Kline of Smithsburg; two sons, John E. Wagaman Sr. of Hanover, Pa., and Walter Dale Wagaman of Orrtanna, Pa.; 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Eugene Wagaman.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home, Gettysburg, Pa. The Rev. E. Edward Keyser will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, with full military honors.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Lucille K. Zimmerman

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Lucille K. Zimmerman, 88, of Messiah Village; and formerly of Lemasters, Pa., died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at her home in the village.

Born Aug. 7, 1912, in Wenoma, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Katherine Schulte Kuhn.

Her husband, Lawrence B. Zimmerman, died March 8, 1987.

She was a 1930 graduate of Greencastle (Pa.) High School; and attended business school in Waynesboro, Pa.

She was employed part time at Lemasters Post Office as a postal clerk for 15 years.

She was a member of Lemasters United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, was a member of the church board and was choir director.

She was a member of Franklin County Chapter of DAR.

She is survived by three daughters, Roberta Z. McCrae of Marysville, Pa., Marlene Z. Lyons of Charlotte, N.C., and Jo Ann Minnick of Manassas, Va.; two sons, Guy K. Zimmerman of Alexandria, Va., and Dr. Lawrence B. Zimmerman Jr. of Dillsburg, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lemasters United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Leslie will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Lemasters.

Viewing will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Ruth B. Arndt

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Ruth B. Arndt, 82, of Shippensburg Health Care Center, and formerly of 6080 Honeywood Ave. in St. Thomas, Pa., died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the Center.

Born Sept. 12, 1918, in Rochester, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Elsie Krause Lichtenfels.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg, Pa., and supported her husband in church activities.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, the Rev. Milton F. A. Arndt of Outlook Pointe at Shippensburg; three daughters, Linda Stine of St. Thomas, Shirley Mooney of Shippensburg, and Karen Freet of Altoona, Pa.; a son, David Arndt of Abbottstown, Pa.; a sister, Doris Smith of Rochester; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and two grandsons.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg. The Rev. Neal O. Hively will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg; and Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church.
