Mobile home burns
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - An early afternoon fire Friday destroyed a rural mobile home, leaving a couple homeless, said Mercersburg Fire Chief Nick Barbuzanes.
There were no injuries.
The trailer, at 12110 Cool Hollow Road, was occupied by Dennis Burkett and his wife, Melissa Burkett, said Barbuzanes, chief of the Mercersburg Montgomery Peters and Warren Fire companies.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal, Barbuzanes said.
Melissa Burkett was home at the time. She called in the alarm after seeing smoke and flames around the area of the television set in the living room, Barbuzanes said.
The mobile home is owned by Bryan P Monn.
Barbuzanes said there was no damage estimate Friday, but the contents and the trailer were covered by insurance.
