Bust turns up 2.2 pounds of cocaine

CLEAR SPRING - A Virginia man arrested in Clear Spring Wednesday night has been charged with distributing cocaine, federal authorities said.

Jose DeJesus, age unknown, of Virginia Beach, Va., was arrested by U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents after a drug buy in which DEA/Narcotics Task Force officers purchased six ounces of suspected cocaine, NTF Director Sgt. Richard Johnson said in a written statement. The arrest culminated a one-month investigation, Johnson said.

A search of DeJesus' 1985 Mercedes turned up 2.2 pounds of suspected cocaine in a hidden compartment in the vehicle, Johnson said.

DeJesus was charged with three counts each of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to the statement by Johnson. He is also charged with two counts each of distribution of cocaine and maintaining a common nuisance.
