Through with chew concludes Friday


CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The West Virginia Bureau for Public Health and the West Virginia Tobacco Prevention Program notes that Through With Chew week concludes Friday.

The program's objective is to enlighten and educate West Virginians on the health hazards associated with smokeless tobacco and the influence it has on children. The program began in West Virginia in 1996.

Arts council gets five new board members


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Chambersburg Area Council for the Arts recently announced the appointment of five new board members to its 18-member board of directors.

Vickie Howe, John Hull III, Warren Hurt, and Cindy Wolf have accepted three-year terms and David Keller has accepted a one-year unexpired term to the board.

The board serves as a policy-making and fund-raising arm of the nonprofit charitable organization.
