Editor's note - Please be as brief as possible when calling Mail Call, The Daily Mail's reader call-in line.

You are welcome to leave a recorded message on any subject, but some calls will be screened out.

Here are some of the calls we have received lately:

"I am very concerned on Sterling Road about the bus stop, where about 13 children cross the street. I read in the paper where a 13-year old Falling Waters boy was killed. We are talking about kindergarten children to fifth grade in this area. Please, Board of Education and Transportation Department, please do something about this stop. It is very important to these children and the parents."

"These are some words of wisdom that I have found: 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding, He will direct your path. Give Him praise and glory each and every day and He will give you your heart's desires. Thank Him for everything, always.'"

"I would like to take this time to say thank you to the person or persons at the Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport for doing the most nicest thing anyone could do for the Earnhardt family at this time of sorrow. I admire whoever is responsible. Dale, I will miss, as others will. It will not be the same without him on the track. He is gone from us, but will not be forgotten. God bless."

"A big Mail Call salute to former Washington County Commissioner Ron Bowers. We are happy to see Ron after 39 years of service at Mack Trucks being able to retire and move into a political job. The entire county should be flushed with excitement at the prospect of having Ron serve at a higher level. Good luck, Ron, and Washington County will never ever forget you."

"I want to find out who is going in the Wards building? What is going next to Sam's Club? Are there any new stores or restaurants going up at the Centre? What is going to be done when McCrory's moves out of the Long Meadow Shopping Center? Are there any new stores going into the mall? I just need an update on what is coming to Hagerstown."

"To the legislators that want to increase the emissions and inspection fee, I say no and I will vote you out. I am not against having clean air and all, but to ask a ridiculous fee like that out of us, it is ridiculous. You guys are the ones that want the clean air, so lets give us a reasonable testing fee amount."

"OK, you culinary experts out there, what is the best spice to cook with chicken? Not fry, not bake, but cook."

"I cannot wait for the day when Timothy McVeigh dies for what he did in Oklahoma. The only thing I want is for it to be on pay-per-view TV so everyone can watch. Then I want the proceeds given to the victims and families. He committed a terrible crime against this country and it just isn't right."

"I just read in Mail Call about the nursing homes wanting to put cameras in all the rooms. Believe me, I have gone through the pain of my mother in a nursing home and this is a very good idea. I hope they pass this law. If a lot of people knew how they were treated there, they would do things differently, if they could. I think a video camera in all the rooms is a very good idea. Please pass it, please."

"I would like to thank my neighbor, Tommy Young, for shoveling my walks and driveway. I would also like to thank Corky and Rich Kline. Thanks very much, kids. Nanny H."

"A big thank you to the downtown parking meter man who helped me jump-start my car during the snowstorm on Thursday when it was disabled in the middle of West Washington Street. He was my snow angel."

- Boonsboro

"If Bill and Hillary Clinton were held accountable for their actions in front of Judge Judy, they both would be in jail right now."

"I want to say a special thank you to all the people who came and asked me if I was OK on my accident on Rt. 68 on Thursday, Feb. 22. God bless you all."

"Who do we contact at the Board of Education to inquire about making snow days up during the school year and not tacking them on at the end of June? Our kids need to know now, not just make up time after finals are taken and report card grades are turned in. Students have a six-day weekend every Easter, let us that time more wisely."

"I want to thank the person or persons who found my purse at the Leitersburg Cinemas and for returning it with all the contents still there. Thanks again."

"Next year, we will elect new County Commissioners and the only one I can support would be Bill Wivell."

- Hagerstown

"I think the police should patrol The Terrace in Oak Hill in the mornings around 7 a.m. It says 25 miles per hour, but I know that they are going about 60 or 70 miles per hour."

"If I was Hillary I would divorce Bill and get away from all that. I think she is a nice lady and I think she could do something with her life. Give me some feedback on this."
