Hagerstown police probe three vandalism incidents

Hagerstown City Police received reports of vandalism to three vehicles Monday.

Police said tires were slashed on two cars parked in the 1000 block of Security Road.

The hood was damaged on a vehicle parked on Oak Ridge Avenue, police said.

Man faces five counts in Frederick drug sting

FREDERICK, Md. - A man was taken into custody after Frederick City Police purchased crack cocaine in a drug sting in the Elmwood Terrace parking lot Monday evening.

City Police said additional crack cocaine was found on the man after his arrest just after 8 p.m. at the parking lot on Waverly Drive.

Anthony Darnell McDaniels, 29, of no fixed address, was charged with distribution of cocaine, two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of cocaine.


He was being held pending a bond hearing Monday evening.

Traffic stops leads to arrest of Chambersburg woman

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania woman was charged with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence, after being stopped by Chambersburg Police Saturday night.

Tammi Nicole Sollenberger, 682 Hillcrest Ave. in Chambersburg, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and controlled substances, driving under suspension, unauthorized transfer or use of registration plates and a traffic light violation, police said. She was released to a relative.

Police conducted the traffic stop at 8:45 p.m. in the 200 block of North Second Street.

Tests determined she had a blood alcohol content of .19 percent and found the presence of two controlled substances in her system, police alleged.

Man taken into custody in connection with assault

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A borough man was placed in the Franklin County Prison Saturday morning after a woman was assaulted, Chambersburg Police said.

Robert Caldwell was charged with aggravated assault, police said.

The incident occurred around 3:05 a.m. Saturday at 211 Birch St.

A woman was struck a number of times in the head and face, causing severe swelling, bruising and some bleeding, police said.

Juvenile charged with harassment after incident

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 16-year-old female faces harassment charges after an incident at the Mt. Valley Center Saturday, Chambersburg Police said.

The juvenile was charged with two counts of harassment after another resident and a staff member were struck at the facility at 447 Lincoln Way East, police said.

A 15-year-old female suffered a minor head injury and the staff member had a minor facial injury, police said.

Woman sustains injuries in one-vehicle accident

MARION, Pa. - A Chambersburg woman suffered minor injuries after losing control of her car Sunday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Tiffany Ruth, 20, was taken by the Marion Ambulance Co. to Chambersburg Hospital, where she was treated, police said.

The 1 p.m. accident happened on New Franklin Road, just east of Overcash Road in Guilford Township.

Ruth lost control of her 1998 Mercury, which went off the south berm and flipped over.

A passenger, a 17-year-old female, was not injured, police said.

Three-vehicle accident on I-81 sends two to hospital

MARION, Pa. - Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 81 during last Thursday's snowstorm, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The 12:34 p.m. accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-81, north of Exit 4.

Ruby D. Bailey, 43, of Greencastle, Pa., was driving her 1997 Ford Contour south with Joseph D. Bailey, 14, of Greencastle, a passenger, when she lost control on the snow- and ice-covered road, police said.

The Ford spun into the path of a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo being driven south on the interstate by Christopher Ziegler, 38, of Climax, N.C.

The collision sent Ziegler's car into the median and Bailey's vehicle across the median into the northbound lanes of traffic, where it struck the cab of a tractor-trailer, police said.

Ruby Bailey and Ziegler suffered minor injuries and were treated at Chambersburg Hospital, police said.

The truck driver, Bradley G. Lenover, 49, of Dresden, Ontario, was not injured, police said.
