Monrovia man dies after car hits tree


FREDERICK, Md. - A Monrovia, Md. man died after he lost control of his car and hit a tree on Woodville Road at Glissans Mill Road Friday morning, Frederick County Sheriff's deputies said.

Clifton Lee McMillion, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

McMillion was driving a 1990 Ford Bronco south on Woodville Road when he crossed over the northbound lane, traveled several feet off the northbound shoulder and hit a tree, deputies said.

The accident was discovered by a Frederick County snowplow driver at 3:15 a.m.

Vandals break window at battlefield


SHARPSBURG - Vandals broke a window at the Antietam National Battlefield Visitor Center on Wednesday, Park Ranger Todd Stanton said.

No items were removed from the center.

It will cost $500 to replace the window.

Frederick police arrest fugitive


FREDERICK, Md. - A man wanted in connection with a 1999 homicide in Washington was taken into custody by the Frederick City Police Department and U.S. Marshal's Service Friday, police said.

Barrington Lopez Scroggins, also known as Demond David Thrower, 21, no fixed address, was apprehended at 7:15 am. at a home in the 200 block of Phebus Avenue, police said.
