It will be hard to top Jennifer Lopez's dress from last year's show, but the attention this year seems to be less on risque fashion and more on the controversial rap artist Eminem, who will perform with Elton John during the show.

Eminem has attracted the attention of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), which sees his lyrics as homophobic and demeaning.

GLAAD will meet today with the Academy to discuss intolerance in music. Musical artists and the general public will be given a chance to contend controversial lyrics and to recognize their responsibilities as "artists of the people."

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers II, pleaded guilty to a felony weapons-possession charge in Michigan. A charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10.

We asked eight Hagerstown Community College students about their picks from five Grammy categories. We also asked the students about which performer they were most excited to see, but Eminem's combined performance with Elton John had not been announced at the time.
