WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Leah Price's 3-pointer in the fourth quarter tied the game, and No. 3 James Buchanan went on to defeat Shippensburg 47-44 Thursday for the Rockets' first Mid Penn Colonial championship.

Price finished with 18 points for JB (18-6), which defeated Shippensburg on Tuesday for the second-half crown to get into Thursday's championship. Tonya Angle had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Rockets.

FREDERICK, Md. - Kenan Cole notched her 21st double-double of the season, scoring 14 points and pulling down 12 rebounds as St. Johns at Prospect Hall defeated Maryvale Prep in an Independant Athletic Association of Maryland semifinal playoff game.

SJPH (21-6) raced out to a 28-11 halftime lead and cruised home. Kim Henry had 14 points, five steals and five assists, while Courtnet Bonneville added 10 points.

SMITHSBURG - Smithsburg's guard trio of Katy Powell, Eariel Gholson and LaNitra Higgins combined for 18 points in a blowout third quarter to give the Leopards another win in the MVAL.

Michelle Feiser added 10 rebounds, seven steals and five assists for Smithsburg (16-5, 13-4). Powell finished 23 points and 10 rebounds and Higgins had 16 points and five steals.

Amanda McGhee had 19 points on five 3s and Autumn Parson added 16 points for North (6-12, 4-12).

MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A third quarter shooting freeze spelled disaster for McConnellsburg (3-20) as the Spartans lost to Scotland. McConnellsburg shot 1-19 from the floor in the third period while Scotland hit on nine of 15 shots to turn the game around.

Darcy Everetts led the Spartans with 16 points and Elaina Paruch pulled down 10 rebounds.
