The Kepners


Mr. and Mrs. Millard Scott Kepner were honored Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, with a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter, Debbie Beard. The event was hosted by their daughters, Beard and Barbara Ott. Family and friends attended the buffet dinner.

The Kepners were married Dec. 25, 1950, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown by the Rev. J. Edward Harms, now deceased.

Mrs. Kepner is the former Helen Keller of Funkstown. She worked as a stenographer for the United States Air Force at Fairchild before becoming a homemaker.

Mr. Kepner was a roundhouse foreman with Western Maryland Railway for 41 years.

The Kepners have two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.




The Eccards


Charles and Dixie Eccard of Wolfsville, Md., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000. They were honored with an open house at Garfield United Methodist Church. The event was hosted by their children and spouses, Bob and Jeanie Miss, Terry and Paula Hood, and Roger and Sylvia Lilliech, and five grandchildren.

The Eccards were married Oct. 21, 1950, in Hagerstown by the Rev. Albert Snyder.

Mrs. Eccard is the former Dixie Brown, daughter of the late Jesse and Marjorie Brown. She has been a homemaker for 50 years.

Mr. Eccard is the son of the late Noah and Amy Eccard. He retired from Mack Trucks Inc. in 1990.
