Mail Call for 2/14

Editor's note - Please be as brief as possible when calling Mail Call, The Daily Mail's reader call-in line.

Mail Call is not staffed on weekends or holidays so it is best to call Mail Call during the week. The Mail Call number is 301-791-6236.

You are welcome to leave a recorded message on any subject, but some calls will be screened out.

Here are some of the calls we have received lately:

"What in the world would the news media do without the Clintons and O.J. Simpson?"

"I want to wish my very best friend Wendy a happy birthday. May all your wishes and dreams come true throughout the year. Love, Ashley."

"I agree with the person who called in about the re-enactors on the back side of Boonsboro. If we have to put up with that all the time, I think they should inform someone of that ahead of time. It even makes the dogs upset. The children are afraid of all the banging of the cannons. I hope someone takes into consideration the people of the community and puts a stop to this."

"I was curious when the Clinton President's Day Furniture sale might be?"

"It was very sad about the article in the paper Saturday about the family that lost their homes and pets. But why did they have six dogs and six cats? To me, isn't that a kennel? There should be a law against it."

"I would like to know if anyone has heard or seen anything of that hairdresser in Williamsport, her name was Roxy? I am trying to find her. Does anyone know where she is?"

"I need a 1939 Hagerstown High Yearbook."

"We who live beyond the truck stop, we are zoned agricultural. We have wells and the drain-off will pollute them. This is what we are concerned about. It will also pollute the air, trucks will be rumbling through the town of Williamsport, polluting the air with fumes. Parking will be lined up through one end of town for the trucks and besides we are going to have a hard time getting out, because they will block our way out of that end and we will have to go through Downsville."

"Congratulations Tasha Barnes for winning the Sweetheart Queen at South High. I love you, Aunt Sandy."

"Does anyone know of a dominatrix in the Washington County area?"

"I wish they would soon get a Popeye's in Hagerstown, five pieces of chicken for $3.99. What do you people think about this? We need chicken all over the southern part of the county."

"I want to wish Terry a happy Valentine's Day. I love you very much. Love, Sandy."

"I live on a good bit of land out in the country and when my time is up, I would like to be buried on my property. Everywhere I call, nobody seems to know if that is allowed."

"Dance lessons for HCWDA do not have anything to do with Step 'N Country. Their name should not have been listed at all. This is a conflict of interest."

"The 100 people that attended the truck stop meeting in Downsville would like to know why the mayor of Williamsport was not there? The people and businesses in Williamsport are going to be affected by this and need to know how horrible this would be for this town for traffic, crime and pollution."

"This is to wish T.R. a happy Valentine's Day. I hope your bird is fine. Love, Kitty."

"Let it be known, any candidate, whether City Council, County Commissioner who does not support Community Rescue, will not be voted in this time."

"I want to wish Mary a happy 94th birthday on Feb. 14 and also Valentine's Day. From all her children."

"I want to wish my wife and kids a happy Valentine's Day, Donna, Duwane, Kasandra and Jules. From your father, loving dad and husband."

"We need a video store in the South End."

"This is the lady who had the coupons for the store. Some lady had called for them and I had several others calls for them. If you are still interested in them, give me a call at 301-791-1775."

"I would like to wish my Valentine, Angel, a very happy Valentine's birthday. I love you. All my love, Mom."

"I am a citizen of Williamsport and I want to say that March is the election. I want everyone to think long and hard about this election and put the good foot forward and vote for Earle Pereschuk. He's the man."

"I want to wish Michelle and Larry a happy Valentine's Day. From Norma."

"I want to wish my lovely wife a Happy Valentine's Day. Love, Dean."
