UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Domonique Richmond had 24 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds, five blocks and four steals leading No. 5 South Hagerstown to an easy 78-47 victory over Francis Scott Key in a Monocacy Valley Athletic League game Tuesday.

Tommy Gibson had four points and nine rebounds while Danny Fowler scored 23 points and five assists for South (14-4).

IJAMSVILLE, Md. - Rashad Wells scored eight of his 13 points in the third quarter as No. 4 Thomas Johnson pulled away from Urbana in a Central Maryland Conference game.

Thomas Johnson led 19-16 at halftime but outscored the hosts 23-6 in the third quarter. Jermaine Thomas scored 14 points and Joe Higbee and Tyler Wingerd added 13 points for TJ (15-5, 11-0). Wingerd had eight rebounds and Higbee had five steals.

Barnhart finished with 28 points, 13 rebounds and seven steals. Nathan Sweeney had 10 points and nine rebounds for Grace (12-4, 8-3).

Brunswick 69, Middletown 64

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Brunswick shot 78 percent from the field in the first half, then held off a late Middletown charge to beat the Knights in the MVAL.

The Railroaders (8-12, 7-10) hit on 21 of their 27 shots before halftime and led 46-25 at the break.

The tables turned in the second half, however, as Brunswick went cold and Middletown, particularly D.J. Costello, heated up.

Costello scored 21 of his game-high 30 points in the second half as the Knights (9-11, 8-8) chipped away.

"It was two separate halves," said Brunswick coach Jim Sklencar. "As much as we made in the first half, we couldn't make much of anything in the second."

Jeremy Wallick had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Railroaders. Kevin Goode added 19 points and Larry Brown had seven assists.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Waynesboro placed five players in double figures and went 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to hold off Carlisle in a non-conference game.

Seth Scott had 20 points and Ryan Devlin had 19 for the Indians (10-12), who finished the second half in a four-way tie for first in the Mid Penn Colonial when Big Spring defeated Scotland on Tuesday.

Waynesboro, Scotland, Shippensburg and Big Spring are all 5-2 and will begin playoffs for the second-half title beginning Thursday or Friday. Times and sites are to be determined.
