Pa. woman injured when car hits pole


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Newburg, Pa., woman was treated for minor injuries at a Pennsylvania hospital after she fell asleep while driving Sunday morning and her car struck a pole, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Heather D. Harrison, 26, was taken to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment, police said.

The accident occurred around 1:25 a.m. Sunday on Pa. 997, near Pa. 641, when Harrison fell asleep at the wheel and her car drifted off the east side of the road, striking a utility pole, police alleged.

The car continued traveling and struck another pole before crossing the roadway and landing in a ditch on the west side of the road, police said.
