Civil war classes at Shepherd College



SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The Shepherd College Department of History announces the establishment of a new concentration, Civil War and 19th-Century America.

The concentration will be a block of specialized courses in the history major. Included will be seminars and lectures on topics such as Civil War America, the Reconstruction Era,

Introduction to African-American history, the Old South and Soldiers and American Society 1861-65. There will be opportunities for practicums, internships and archival research at many of the region's historical sites.

The concentration will be open to students who enter Shepherd as freshmen no earlier than the fall of 2001.
