George D. Ferraiuolo

George Duane Ferraiuolo, 36, of 1209 Hillbrook Drive, Hagerstown, who died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, is survived by his stepmother, Donna Ferraiuolo of Roanoke, Va.

Robert E. Hoover

PINESBURG, Md. - Robert Edward Hoover, 52, of Clear Spring Road, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Born April 24, 1948, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Miriam V. Eichelberger Hoover Hose of Pinesburg and the late Kenneth Marshall Hoover.


He was a 1966 graduate of Williamsport High School.

He was employed by Hardell Fuel Oil Corporation in Hagerstown.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Pinesburg Baptist Church.

He was a past member of Hagerstown Moose Lodge 212.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, John W. Hoover and Jack L. Hoover, both of Pinesburg; a niece; three nephews; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport. The Revs. Larry Zecher and Woodrow Rock will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 9 a.m. for the convenience of friends.

Julia A. Reichard

BOONSBORO - Julia Ann Reichard, 70, of Fahrney-Keedy Home, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at the home.

Born Nov. 19, 1930, near Huyetts, Md., she was the daughter of the late Rev. John Rowland and Mary Kathryn Martin Reichard.

She was a 1948 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a 1958 graduate of King's Daughters School of Nursing in Martinsburg, W.Va.

She had been employed by King's Daughters Hospital in Martinsburg, Washington County Hospital, Fahrney-Keedy Home and Garlock Memorial Home in Hagerstown, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Manor Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by a sister, Josephine Elizabeth Reichard Shaw of Madison, Wis.; three brothers, Robert Milton Reichard of Williamsport, Charles Edwin Reichard of Myersville, Md., and James Martin Reichard of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Manor Cemetery in Tilghmanton. The Rev. Loyal H. Vanderveer will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Manor Church of the Brethren, 18511 Manor Church Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713.

Jessie M. Howell

Jessie Marie Howell, 95, a resident of Colton Villa Nursing Home in Hagerstown, formerly of Route 4, who died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, is survived by a daughter, Ann Wolfe of Myersville, Md.; a son, James Franklin Howell of West Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Hubert M. Smith

LURAY, Va. - Hubert Miller Smith, 76, of 4168 Ida Road, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.

Born Dec. 10, 1924, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late John David and Ruth Miller Smith.

He was a certified public accountant at Malain, Dery and Perry in Washington, D.C.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of American Legion 0166 of New Market, Va.

He is survived by a son, Larry Miller Smith of Orlando, Fla., and a brother, John Alvey Smith of Hagerstown.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Sharon Wiggins will officiate.

Arrangements are by Bradley Funeral Home, Luray.

Anna C. Keener

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Anna C. Keener, 98, of 140 Village Square, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at her home.

Born July 27, 1902, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William S. and Mary E. Caufman Horst.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Keener, in 1993. They were married Dec. 20, 1923.

She and her husband, operated a farm in Franklin County for many years.

She was a member of Rowe Mennonite Church, where she was active in the Sewing Circle.

She is survived by two daughters, Marian I. Martin of Greencastle, Pa., and Esther M. Witmer of Morgantown, W.Va.; five sons, John E. Keener and Ivan S. Keener, both of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Clarence A. Keener of Shippensburg, Pa., Paul A. Keener of Carlisle, Pa., and D. Mark Keener of Chambersburg; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a niece.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Rowe Mennonite Church. The Rev. John Horst and Deacon Kenneth Wadel will officiate. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home in Shippensburg and Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers.
