Jessie E. Tucker

Jessie English Tucker, 83, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born Sept. 30, 1917, in Stafford County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Powhatan and Bessie Bowling English.

Her husband, Evan Hughes Tucker Jr., died in February, 1993.

She attended Eastern High School and McKinley High School, both in Washington, D.C.

She had worked as a hospital receptionist and intake clerk and was a homemaker in recent years.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Tucker Jones of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Ethelyn Williams Blubaugh of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren, Susan T. Schultz of Berkeley Springs, Julie L. Kontra of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Robert L. Jones of San Antonio, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.


Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. Pastor Andrew Cooney will officiate. Burial will be private.

Rosanna M. Ramsey

HUSTONTOWN, Pa. - Services for Rosanna Marie Ramsey, 41, of Doran Road, who died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Locust Grove Mennonite Church in Belleville. The Rev. Erie Renno and Pastors Mayard Beitzel and Sam Stoey will officiate. Burial will be in Locust Grove Mennonite Cemetery in Belleville.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at M. R. Brown Funeral Home in Hustontown and Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Virginia M. Johnson

HANCOCK - Virginia M. Johnson, 76, of Orchard Ridge Road, who died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, is survived by her stepmother, Vergie Cain of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

William G. Lucas Jr.

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - William G. Lucas Jr., 67, of Lucas Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pa.

Born May 24, 1933, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of the late William G. Sr. and Louise Ellen Bishop Lucas.

He was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School.

He was a self-employed farmer.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hancock.

He was a member of Warfordsburg Grange.

He is survived by one brother, Herbert G. Lucas of Hancock, and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Opal Lucas, and one brother, John Lucas.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Ray Rogers and the Rev. Timothy Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Parkhead Cemetery in Big Pool.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3738 Resley Road, Hancock, MD 21750.

Isadora M. Carter

WILLIAMSPORT - Isadora M. Carter, 91, formerly of 17019 Burwood Court in Hagerstown, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Williamsport Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mount View Cemetery in Sharpsburg. The Rev. Thomas J. Stottlemyer will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Volunteer Fire Company of Halfway Ambulance Division, 11114 Lincoln Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport.

Ruth G. Hege

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ruth G. Hege, 79, of 1050 Tallow Hill Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at her home.

Born Jan. 1, 1922, in Bucks County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John C. and Bertha Godshalk Myers.

Her husband, Mark H. Hege, died July 29, 1995.

She was a member of Rowe Mennonite Church in Shippensburg, Pa.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn F. Hartman of Chambersburg; four sons, Sanford L. Hege of Chambersburg, J. Harlin Hege and Conrad J. Hege, both of Millen, Ga., and J. Milo Hege of Midville, Ga.; one sister, Esther G. Derstine of Doylestown, Pa.; one brother, Melvin G. Myers of Waynesboro, Ga.; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Philip L. Hege, in Aug. 8, 1989; four sisters; and three brothers.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Road, in Shippensburg. The Rev. John Horst, the Rev. Allen Martin and the Rev. Kenneth Wadel will officiate. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery.

Viewing will be Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, one hour prior to services, at the church.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Aid Ministries, in care of Kenneth Wadel, 6734 White Church Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.

QUINCY, Pa. - Mark Daniel Eigenbrode, 92, of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of 14254 Windy Haven Road, Smithsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at the nursing home.
