Man charged with DUI after crashing car into curb

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man was charged with driving under the influence his car crashed into a curb Saturday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Aaron Steven Neil, 26, of Chambersburg, was charged with driving under the influence, police said.

Police responded to a single-vehicle accident at 12:32 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Pa. 11 and Pa. 433. There, they found a car had been turned too soon at the intersection and had struck a concrete curb, causing minor damage to the car.

Neil, who was wearing his seatbelt, was not injured, police said.

Chambersburg men charged following incident in bar

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Two Chambersburg men were charged with various offenses after an incident at an area bar Sunday morning, Chambersburg Police said.

Michael David Laidig, 45, of 462 N. Franklin St., was charged with two counts of harassment, and one count each of public drunkenness, resisting arrest and stalking, police said.


Kirk C. Gobin, 33, also of 462 N. Franklin St., was charged with public drunkenness and resisting arrest.

Police were dispatched to The Patch, at 460 Grant St., for a fight at 2:14 a.m. and were advised upon their arrival that one man had assaulted a woman.

Laidig was taken before District Justice Gary Carter and then to Franklin County Prison when he was determined to be too intoxicated to arraign, police said. He has since been released.

Gobin was placed in Franklin County Prison by Franklin County probation officers on an alleged violation of a court ordered "no drinking" probation. He was still in the jail Tuesday night.

Officers catch up to driver at drive-through window

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg Police charged a Chambersburg Borough man with driving under the influence once they caught up with him in line at a fast food drive-through window last week.

Gregory E. Baer, 44, of 1026 Lavrich Drive, Chambersburg, also was charged with leaving the scene after a hit and run accident on North Main Street Jan. 23, police said.

Officers attempted to stop Baer, who was driving his 1988 Dodge station wagon on Lincoln Way West, at around 10:54 p.m., police said.

Baer reached the drive-through speaker at Wendy's restaurant and started to place an order, police said.

He was taken into custody and a blood alcohol test was performed.

He was later released, police said.

Police did not provide information on the accident.

Police seek help in finding missing Frederick teenager

FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick teenager reported missing on Jan. 24, still hasn't been found, Frederick City Police said.

Police were asking for the public's help in finding Keren Gomez, 13. No street address was available.
