MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Harrisonburg, Va., man was treated and released from City Hospital Tuesday night for a gunshot wound following an incident on Catrow Road at about 6:30 p.m.

Jaime Garcia Calixto, 29, was taken to the hospital after being shot in the foot during the incident.

Estle Robert Gibson, 71, P.O. Box 70, Gerrardstown, was charged with malicious wounding and was to be taken to Eastern Regional Jail later in the evening, according to Cpl. W.M. Spessert of the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

Spessert said Calixto and two other males were in a car looking for a house along Catrow Road, which is off Greenhouse Road in southern Berkeley County in the Arden area. Their car got stuck in the mud in a labor camp in the area, Spessert said.

They approached a nearby house, seeking help and to determine if it was the house they were looking for, Spessert said.

Gibson heard the noise, came out of the house and told the men to stop coming toward the house, Spessert said.

When they didn't, two shots were fired, and Calixto was hit in the foot once, Spessert alleged.

Gibson is scheduled to appear in Berkeley County Magistrate Court this morning, Spessert said.
