Men charged with drug violations

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Two Chambersburg men were charged Friday morning after Pennsylvania State Police vice officers, Chambersburg Police and the Franklin County Drug Task Force conducted a drug bust based on a tip from a confidential source, police said.

Philip R. Crone, 27, of 1538 Pin Oak Drive, and Eric Glass, 33, of Hollywell Avenue, were both charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance - marijuana, criminal use of a communications facility and criminal conspiracy, according to Pennsylvania State Police and District Justice John Weyman.

Crone and Glass were released Friday on $10,000 bond each, Weyman said.

Based on the tip, police set up surveillance at Razzle's night club at 1110 Sheller Ave. and at Crone's home.

Police said they saw Crone leave his home shortly after midnight Thursday and drive a red 1997 Ford pickup to Razzle's. At Razzle's, another man, Glass, left the club and got into Crone's pickup, according to police and Weyman.

When Glass left the pickup he was carrying a package, which he put in a nearby storage shed and then re-entered the bar, police said.

Police found a package that contained approximately 1/4 pound of marijuana with a street value of about $400, police said.

Police pulled Crone's pickup over, arrested Crone, and seized the pickup and more than $400 in cash, police said.

Police executed a search warrant on Crone's home at around 7 a.m.

They found a loaded handgun, digital scales and about a 1/2 pound of marijuana with a street value of approximately $800, police alleged.
