Mary S. Zeilor

FRONT ROYAL, Va. - Mary Shriver Zeilor, 89, of Front Royal, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Loving Arms Rest Home.

Born July 10, 1911, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Valley Hovermale Shriver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hammond Zeilor.

She was a self-employed beautician, operating a beauty shop at her home on John Marshall Highway.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Front Royal, where she was a member of Alma Claytor Sunday School Class; and Gertrude Rust Missionary Circle.

She was a member of AARP.

She is survived by a brother, Hammond Shriver; two granddaughters, Dee Zeilor of Jacksonville, Fla. and Patty Welch of Richmond, Va.; two great-grandchildren; and a niece.

She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Marshall Zeilor; a sister, Louise Shriver; and a brother, Thomas Shriver.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal. The Revs. John Oliver and Robert Mark Jordon will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenway Cemetery in Berkeley Springs.

The family will receive friends Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.




Doris A. Ambrose

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Doris A. Ambrose, 72, of 3026 Pinellas Point Drive South, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at her home.

Born Oct. 9, 1928, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Edward Earl Barrow and Ruth Eva Forrest Barrow Martin.

She was employed as an operator by G.T.E. Telephone Co. in St. Petersburg; and formerly by C&P Telephone Co. in Hagerstown.

She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by a daughter, Tina Ambrose Rawley of Florida; a sister, S. Jayne Goodwin of Savannah, Ga.; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn M. Gregg and N. LaRue Marks.

Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen D. Robison will officiate.

Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Sunday at noon at the funeral home.




Edward W. Pierce Jr.

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Edward Walter Pierce Jr., 42, of Kearneysville, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Born July 5, 1958, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of Glenda Graham Pierce of Charles Town and the late Edward Walter Pierce Sr.

He worked for PNIG-Charles Town Gaming LLC as assistant mutuel manager.

He was a member of Charles Town Baptist Church.

He coached Charles Town Ranson Little League. He was a member of Charles Town Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 948.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Angela Marie Pierce of Ranson, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Amy Elizabeth Gray and Ashlee Dawn Gray, both of Kearneysville; a sister, Victoria Lynn Bridges of Street, Md.; a grandchild; and his companion, Sandra Gray of Kearneysville.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home in Ranson. Dr. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

M. Martha Rosenberry Freshman

FORT LOUDON, Pa. - M. Martha Rosenberry Freshman, 72, of 5536 Raccoon Road, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at her home.

Born Jan. 6, 1929, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Mellott Jones.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Victor H. Rosenberry, in 1979.

She was a former employee of Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pa. She retired in 1977.

She was a member or Trinity United Church of Christ in Fort Loudon, where she had been a consistory member.

She is survived by her second husband, Mervin H. Freshman, whom she married in 1990; a son, Robert A. Jones of Fort Loudon; a stepson, Harry R. Freshman of Waynesboro, Pa.; a sister, Ethel Holloway of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Richard L. Jones of St. Thomas, Pa.; a granddaughter; a grandson; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a niece.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 13189 Main St. in Fort Loudon. The Rev. Barron P. Barley will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery in Fort Loudon.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - George I. Diffenbaucher, 88, of 609 Prospect Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Waynesboro Hospital.
