SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - The University of Charleston took a step forward as the frontcourt combination of Kalan Smith and Carl Edwards combined for 27 of their 37 points in the first half to lead the Golden Eagles to a West Virginia Intercolligate Athletic Conference victory over Shepherd College.
Edwards scored 15 while Smith and guard Derek Jones added 12 each in the first 20 minutes as Charleston (9-5, 5-1) took over after a 7-7 tie to blow out to a 52-29 halftime lead.
Keith Davis, making his first start for the Rams (6-6, 3-5) , led Shepherd with 20 points and nine rebounds while Antar Parkman finished with 12. Shepherd hit just 35 percent of its shots, including a meager 3 of 21 from 3-point range.

Missy Hill, Jessie Carner, Jade Zagarella, Missy Lancaster he girls 800 relay in 4:24.90.
