MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Kim Waeber had 19 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists as No. 3 Middletown strengthened its grip on the lead in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League with a 62-49 victory over second-place Smithsburg on Friday night.

Danielle Costello added 18 points and eight rebounds for the Knights (12-1, 9-0), who have a two-game lead halfway through the conference season.

Katy Powell had 16 points and six rebounds and Eariel Gholson had 15 points for No. 7 Smithsburg (9-3, 7-2).

WILLIAMSPORT - Brooke Weimer led the Wildcats with 11 points, including a three-pointer, as they cruised to a win in the MVAL. Sara Taylor and Jessica Ross each had nine points for Williamsport (9-3, 5-3). Casaundra Cartwright scored a game-high 14 points to lead South (1-9, 1-8).
