WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Evan Medley had eight points and eight rebounds before fouling out, and No. 6 North Hagerstown survived with only five players left to beat Walkersville 48-46 Friday night to take sole possession of first place in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League.

North (11-1, 7-1) only dressed eight because of injury before losing Medley and Sam Watters to fouls and leading scorer Nate Naylor (12 points) to injury. Paul Berry finished with 10 rebounds, Scott Rice had 10 points and Tavis Green added six assists for the Hubs. North leads South Hagerstown by 1/2 game in the standings.

Mark Angleberger led the Lions (6-6, 5-5) with 19 points and six rebounds.
