Helen K. Martin

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Helen Kathryn Martin, 91, of Falling Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 228 Ridge Ave. and 12 W. Second St., both in Waynesboro, Pa., who died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, is survived by a sister, Betty Horton of St. Thomas, Pa.




Wayne W. Elliott

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Wayne W. Elliott, 85, of 902 Parkside Court and formerly of 214 Glen St., died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at his home.

Born Nov. 9, 1915, in Culbertson, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter O. and Bertha M. Ankerbrand Elliott.

He was a 1933 graduate of Chambersburg High School; and a 1936 graduate of Shippensburg State College in Shippensburg, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Bittinger Elliott, whom he married May 3, 1941; a son, Gregory W. Elliott of Lancaster, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Gartside and Betty Seylar, both of Chambersburg; and a brother, John W. Elliott of Chambersburg.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at King Street United Brethren Church, 172 E. King St. in Chambersburg. The Revs. Patrick B. Jones, Paul B. Baker and Lester F. Stine will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg; and Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to King Street United Brethren Church, 172 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201; or American Heart Association, Franklin/Fulton Division, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.




David E. Eddy

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - David Emery Eddy, 73, of 41 Eastland Circle, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born March 21, 1927, in Jackson, Mich., he was the son of the late Emery Davis and Constance Woods Eddy.

He was a 1945 graduate of Southside High School in Rockville Center, Long Island, N.Y.

He received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering in 1950 from the University of Maine.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn "Terry" Eddy, whom he married May 3, 1952; two daughters, Constance J. Fleagle of Waynesboro and Kimberly S. Eddy of Swiftwater, Pa.; one sister, Jean Brennan of Hicksville, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 30 W. North St., Waynesboro. The Rev. James T. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Beulah W. Boward

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Beulah W. "Bunny" Boward, 88, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at her home.

Born Dec. 22, 1912, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harvey S. and Maude Price Welshans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Andrew Boward; and two sisters, Dora Welshans and Velma Middleton.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery. The Rev. John R. Yost will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 2015 Boyd Orchard Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.




Levi W. Bush Jr.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Levi Walton Bush Jr., 73, of Hedgesville, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born July 3, 1927, in Beaver, Okla., he was the son of the late Levi Walton Bush Sr. and Ethel Liggett Bush.

He is survived by his wife, Florette Baumgardner Bush; two daughters, Deborah Wolf of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Carol Stoecker of Baltimore; a son, Larry Bush of Baltimore; two sisters; two brothers; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.




Lois J. Benway

Lois J. Montgomery Benway, 75, of Linwood Road, Hagerstown and formerly of Vero Beach, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001.

Born Sept. 8, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Petra Alida Peterson Montgomery.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Dixon-Troxell Post 211 of Funkstown.

She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Poole of Hagerstown, Pamela Sexton and Priscilla Marcoccio, both of Baltimore; a brother, Paul E. Montgomery of Carlisle, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Sandra Crawford-Miller will officiate.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
