It's winter. It's gray. It's cold.

Your hair is limp. Your skin is dry from heating your home with fuel that's costing more.

You've got a case of the January blahs.

What can you do to give yourself a little lift?

You don't want to blow the one New Year's resolution you've kept by indulging in a chocolate bar or hot-fudge sundae.

How about a makeover?

Two Herald-Mail staffers volunteered to put themselves in the hands of local stylists and go for a new look.

We arranged an appointment with stylist Belinda Dowler at Charlene's Hair Gallery in Hagerstown for Circulation Customer Service Representative Ronda Snyder.

Jodi Whittington, stylist/manager at SmartStyle salon at Wal-Mart Supercenter in Hagerstown gave City Editor Terry Headlee a more professional look.

Rest assured that his subsequent appointment to the top newsroom position of executive editor was based on his qualifications and experience - not his makeover.

See the difference for yourself in the "before" and "after" photos.

Ditch the winter blahs. Consider a change in the way you look. It may put a little "spring" in your step.
