W.Va. State Police await Wesco report

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - West Virginia State Police Monday were awaiting the results of more tests before determining the cause of death last week in Berkeley County of Ivan Troy Wesco, 24, of 117 Naomi Lane.

Wesco was found dead early in the morning of Jan. 8 in his home with a knife stuck in his chest and other cut marks on his body.

"We're waiting for the state medical examiner to give us a report before we know what happened," said Trooper D.M. Olack Monday afternoon. The police have been treating the death as a homicide, which is routine in cases like this, troopers have said. But police also have not ruled out suicide.

"That's still a possibility," Olack said.

Among the test results that must be reviewed are toxicology tests on the blood, Olack said. He said he expects the tests results to be available next week.
