Essay Contest

Vegetarian essay contest


sponsored by The Vegetarian Resource Group

Deadline is Tuesday, May 1.

Contest categories are ages 8 and younger, ages 9 to 13 and ages 14 to 18. First prize in each category is a $50 savings bond.

Entrants should write a two- to three-page essay on any aspect of vegetarianism or veganism. Vegetarianism is not eating meat, fish and poultry. Vegans are vegetarians who do not use any animal products, such as dairy items or eggs.

Entries should be based on interviews, research and/or personal opinion. Participants need not be a vegetarian to enter.

Include name, age, address, telephone number, grade, school and teacher's name. Send entries to: The Vegetarian Resource Group, P.O. Box 1463, Baltimore, Md. 21203.
