The Warrenfeltzes

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Warrenfeltz of Smithsburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, with family and friends at Washington County Playhouse in Hagerstown.

On Sunday, Dec. 10, their children hosted an open house at Trinity Lutheran Church in Smithsburg, where they were presented a friendship quilt created by friends and family with reminders of memories of the past 50 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Warrenfeltz were married Dec. 9, 1950, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Towson, Md., by the Rev. Paul Lessman.

Mrs. Warrenfeltz is the former Betty Itnyre, daughter of the late Van and Elenora Itnyre.

Mr. Warrenfeltz is the son of the late Wade and Sadie Warrenfeltz.

Their children and spouses are Larry and Nancy Warrenfeltz of Mandeville, La.; Dean and Nancy Warrenfeltz of Martinsburg, W.Va.; Lon and Vicki Warrenfeltz of Naples, Fla.; and Daryl and Lori Warrenfeltz of Waynesboro, Pa.


They have five grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

The Smiths

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel V. Smith of Hagerstown were honored Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at reception in honor of their 50th anniversary.

The affair, hosted by Mrs. Smith's sister, Mona Adkins, was at Four Points Hotel Sheraton in Hagerstown.

Mr. and Mrs. Gustaf Glessner provided music, which included the couple's favorite hymns, "It Is Well" and "At the Cross."

Close friends Joan Shaw, Mary J. Albert, Annie Nicodemus, Skip Poffenberger, Anna Lee Burcher, Delores Grim, and Ron and Rose Brais took the couple down memory lane. They presented the Smiths with a gold bell for their Christmas tree.

The Smiths renewed their wedding vows while Kevin Smoot read special readings.

The highlight of the evening was when the Smiths' neighbor, Nick Karlin, entered the room wearing Mr. Smith's Navy suit.

The Smiths are retired and travel to craft shows with Marion's Homemade Bags.
