He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Mitchell Rowe; five daughters, Kathy Householder of Falling Waters, Edna K. Carbaugh and Michelle L. Turner, both of Hagerstown, Betty Ann Rowe of Battle Creek, Mich. and Tammie M. Carr of Clear Spring; two sons, Phillip J. Rowe Jr. of Rocky Mount, N.C. and Daniel E. Rowe of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a sister, Virginia Bowers of Hagerstown; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Wallech and Catherine Wallech; and two brothers, Charles Poper and Daniel Rowe.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St. in Hagerstown. Evangelist Casey R. Strunk will officiate. Burial will be in Leitersburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Eugene N. Cordes

Eugene Nicholas "Gene" Cordes, 57, of 82 Manor Drive, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at his home.

Born May 29, 1943, in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Eldin Lee and Rose Theresa Breheny Green.

He worked for the Department of Defense, the City of Hagerstown and the U.S. Park Service.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-69.

He is survived by his wife, Ernestine "Tina" Grey Cordes, whom he married March 10, 1966; four daughters, Gena Lanette Martinez of Hagerstown, Terri Jean Pieper of Waldorf, Md., Jacqueline Jeanette Cordes of Boonsboro and Kelly Nicole Cordes at home; a son, Nicholis Eugene Cordes of Hagerstown; a sister, Peggy Lee Marshall of Edgewater, Md.; two granddaughters and two grandsons.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. Pastor Jack Hill will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday at noon at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Nathleen O. Seal

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Nathleen Oda Seal, 71, of Bunker Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born June 10, 1929, in Pine Hills, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Odie and Golda Shanholtz.

Her husband, Virgil Leo Seal Sr., died Sept. 14, 1997.

She was employed by Perfection Garment Co. in Martinsburg, W.Va.

She attended Heritage Freewill Baptist Church in Inwood, W.Va.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Seal of Delaware, Charlotte Buchanan and Rena Baker, both of Bunker Hill; two sons, Virgil L. Seal Jr., and Clarence O. Seal Sr., both of Bunker Hill; three sisters, Violet Donivan and Anna Walls of Martinsburg and Kathleen Ellis of Marlowe, W.Va.; two brothers, Wayne Shanholtz of West Virginia and Sylvester Shanholtz of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town, W.Va. The Rev. Russell Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Roger L. Blair

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Roger Lee Blair, 66, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Oct. 4, 1934, in Hedgesville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Percy H. and Minnie Willy Mullin Blair.

He retired in 1996 from 3M Co.

He was a member of Rosemont Grace Brethren Church.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Michael Blair; three daughters, Robin F. Levie of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Angela J. Elliott of Hedgesville, W.Va. and Regina Y. Ronk of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; eight sisters, Mary Walburn, Ada Wilson and Nancy Rudy, all of Hedgesville, Janet Poisal, Virginia Johnson, Shirley VanMetre and Darlene Miller, all of Martinsburg, and Patricia Whitacre of Stephens City, Va.; three brothers, Alton Mullin of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Tom Blair and Fred Blair of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Moss; and two brothers, William Mullin Sr. and Prea Blair.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. Pastor Carl A. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert L. Everhart Jr.

Robert Lee "Rose Bud" Everhart Jr., 79, of 75 Madison Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born March 19, 1921, in Brosius, W.Va., he was the son of the late Robert Lee Everhart Sr. and Phoebe Ritz Everhart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Elizabeth Everhart, in 1990.
