Hawks beat Baltimore



BALTIMORE - The Hagerstown Community College women's basketball team used a total team effort to open up a big first-half lead and cruise to a 79-53 Maryland JuCo victory over Community College of Baltimore.

The Hawks shot a season-best 46 percent from the floor, grabbed 49 team rebounds and recorded 25 team assists as 11 players scored for HCC. Robin Curley and Tiffany Tucker had 12 points apiece to lead HCC (6-5, 4-2 conference).

"We had a hard-fought win on Monday in overtime," said coach Marlys Palmer. "I was afraid our starters were going to be tired tonight. But they came out hard and I was able to play everybody a lot and get a contribution from them all."
