NEWVILLE, Pa. - John Sheppard's rebound basket at the buzzer lifted James Buchanan to a 52-50 victory Saturday afternoon over Big Spring in the Mid Penn Colonial.

Tied at 50-50 with five seconds to play, Matt Piper took a last shot for JB (6-7, 4-2) and missed, but Sheppard got the putback to fall just before the buzzer sounded. Piper finished with 19 points and Sheppard had 11.

Josh Strait led McConnellsburg (3-6) with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Josh Ott added seven assists.
