Deborah J. Graham

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Deborah Jean Owen Graham, 55, of 82 Nottingham Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born July 3, 1945, in Malvern, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Lawrence Owen.

She was a 1963 graduate of Conestoga Ridge High School in Malvern and a 1967 graduate of the University of Virginia-Mary Washington Campus in Fredericksburg, Va., receiving a bachelor of arts degree in psychology.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Chambersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Graham, whom she married April 10, 1999; a daughter, Jessica Dalton of State College, Pa.; a sister, Jane Galutia of Danville, Pa.; a brother, Steve Owen of Fairfax Station, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro, Pa.


Emily Eleanor M. Small

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Emily Eleanor M. Small, 92, of 210 Apple Blossom Way and formerly of Fayetteville, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Dec. 18, 1908, in Somerton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Howard and Emily Degler McMenamin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Small, in 1983. They were married May 9, 1951.

She was employed by Dr. Frank J. Corbett in Fayetteville for 17 years. Earlier, she worked for Dr. George MacKenzie in Philadelphia.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Chambersburg.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Baker of Portsmouth, Va.; three sons, George MacKenzie of Philadelphia, Richard MacKenzie of Feasterville, Pa., and Edward L. Dent of Chambersburg; a sister, Jessica McMaster of Erwinna, Pa.; nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a niece; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Mary E. Johnson

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Mary Elizabeth Johnson, 73, of 1100 Peach Orchard Lane, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Frederick Health Care Center in Frederick, Md.

Born July 11, 1927, in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Tanneyhill Monroe Sr. and Agnes Louise Griffin Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Campbell Jr., and her second husband, Wilbur Johnson.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Petersville, Md., where she was a member of Catholic Daughters.

She was a member and president of Ladies Auxiliary of Steadman-Keenan Post 96 of the American Legion, president of Peach Orchard Club, and a member of Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, Brunswick Ambulance Auxiliary, Brunswick Museum and Brunswick Senior Citizens.

In 1992, she was Brunswick's Honored Citizen.

She volunteered at the Veterans Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., Frederick Health Care Center and The Brunswick House.

She is survived by a daughter, Glenda Morris of Brunswick; a son, Clayton Campbell Sr. of Fredericksburg, Va.; three sisters, Virginia Campbell of Brunswick and Julia Gregory and Margaret James, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Monroe and Helen Monroe, and four brothers, Griffin Monroe, Edward Monroe, Tanneyhill Monroe Jr. and Joseph Monroe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Petersville. The Rev. Lawrence J. Gesy will be celebrant. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road in Brunswick, which will open at 9 a.m. for the convenience of friends.

Emma R. Mellinger

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Emma Rhoda Mellinger, 78, of 145 Evergreen Drive and formerly of 5381 Third St., Marion, Pa., died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Health Park Medical Center in Fort Myers.

Born March 9, 1922, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Bishop Laban and Emma Rhoda Hess Wingert.

She and her husband operated the family farm. She also was a school bus driver for the Chambersburg Area School District.

She was a member of Antrim Brethren in Christ Church near Chambersburg, where she was a member of Berean Sunday School Class.
