Pa. man charged with trespassing

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A Pennsylvania man was charged with trespassing and driving under the influence when police picked him up following a failed attempt to break into a Greencastle, Pa., home Thursday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Fred Allen Bowers, 45, P.O. Box 94, was charged with defiant trespass and driving under the influence, police said. Bowers was committed to Franklin County Prison and is there awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

According to police, someone tried to gain entry into the residence at 6756 Guitner Road in Antrim Township at 8:30 a.m. Friday. The man attempted to enter through a rear window, and when he was unable to, he fled.

Bowers was stopped at the intersection of Pa. 16 and John Wayne Drive operating a 1999 Dodge Caravan, police said.

Tractor-trailer, plow collide on I-81

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A tractor-trailer driver contributed to an accident with a snow plow Friday morning when he switched lanes too soon, Pennsylvania State Police said.


The accident happened about 11:40 a.m. Friday on Interstate 81 in Guilford Township, police sad.

Cassious A. Rosebud, 29, of Tupelo, Miss., was driving a Freightliner north on the highway when he attempted to pass a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation plow from the left lane. The driver pulled back into the right lane too quickly though, and struck the plow, police said.

Rosebud, his passenger, Allen Alvin, Jr., 29, of Hammond, La., and the driver of the snow plow, Douglas R. Tosten, 41, of Fayetteville, Pa., were not injured in the accident.

No charges have been filed.

Cocaine possession charged in W.Va.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A traffic stop for speeding Sunday afternoon on Rock Cliff Drive led to the discovery of $3,000 worth of crack cocaine in a car, according to West Virginia State Police.

A woman driving a car was stopped near Kitzie's Restaurant and Lounge Club about 1:30 p.m., said Trooper J.A. Laing.

Stephanie Rhoe, 20, of 208 Cottage Drive, Martinsburg, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, Laing said.

Rhoe, who had not been arraigned Sunday night, was being held in the Eastern Regional Jail near Martinsburg.
