Gail R. Walker

BOONSBORO - Gail Robin Koogle Walker, 44, of 117 Grove Lane, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at her home.

Born Sept. 14, 1956, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of Nancy Lee Flair Koogle of Frederick and the late Paul Frederick Koogle.

She was a 1974 graduate of Frederick High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Robert Lee Walker Jr.; a daughter, Jessica Marie Walker, at home; a son, Robert Lee Walker III, at home; three brothers, Paul F. Koogle Jr. and Jerold W. Koogle, both of Frederick, and Robert Lee Koogle of Walkersville, Md.; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Mount Nebo United Methodist Church, 134 S. Main St. in Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

Bonita E. Schoen

CHALFONT, Pa. - Bonita E. Schoen, 61, of Chalfont, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at her home.

Born March 9, 1939, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Frances M. Evans Short of Neshaminy Retirement Home in Neshaminy, Pa. and the late Robert E. Short.

She was a member of Landsdale Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Landsdale, Pa.

She is survived by seven children, Neal E. Schoen II, Eugene F. Schoen, Beth E. McElvenney, Steven E. Schoen, Kimberly E. Kelly, Virginia E. Schoen and Timothy E. Schoen; a sister; four brothers; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.




Ray D. Mellott

HARRISONVILLE, Pa. - Ray D. Mellott "Sam Spade", 73, of 155 Little Egypt Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born Feb. 19, 1927, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., he was the son of the late Russell C. and Mary Anna Myers Mellott.

He retired as a mechanic from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg after 36 years.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Bernhard Mellott, whom he married Nov. 2, 1945; a daughter, Marsha Gress of Harrisonville; two sons, Duane Mellott of Harrionsville and Sherwin Mellott of Greencastle, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Pastor Belvy White will officiate. Burial will be in Asbury United Methodist Cemetery in Harrisonville.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 2 p.m. Visitation also will be Saturday at noon at the funeral home.




Lottie E. Statler

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Lottie E. Hege Statler, 98, of Shook Home for the Aged, and formerly of Molly Pitcher Highway South, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Shook Home.

Born Oct. 20, 1902, near Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Carrie Mae Bivens Hege.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Statler, in 1992.

She attended schools in Franklin County, Pa. and Cumberland Valley Normal School.

She taught in one-room school houses in Franklin County. She was an antique dealer.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Marion, Pa., and taught Sunday School.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet H. Droll of Warrington, Pa.; a son, Paul H. Statler of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a grandson; and four granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. The Revs. Warren Heintzelman and Henry Hunsberger will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Kittridge J. Hallock

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Kittridge J. Hallock, 90, of Menno Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of Florida and 122 Colorado St., Marion, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Menno Haven.

Born Jan. 6, 1910, in Islip, N.Y., he was the son of the late Buell and Hannah Oakley Hallock.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy A. Appel Hallock, in 1998.

He and his wife owned and operated Hallock Photography in Farmingdale, N.Y., and later in Islip, Long Island, N.Y. They sold the business in 1973.

He is survived by a son, Peter K. Hallock of Marion; a sister, Elmira Hallock of Islip; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
