Store employee hurt in alleged robbery

A shoe store employee at Prime Outlets was injured when he tried to stop two men from stealing a pair of boots Friday, Maryland State Police said.

Police said Reebok store manager Matthew Curtis, 29, noticed two men take a pair of Rockport boots from the store and run out the front door at 5:30 p.m.

Curtis chased the men and confronted them in the parking lot.

The men agreed to give back the boots but then quickly jumped into a late model Pontiac Silhouette and locked the door.

Curtis told police the driver started the car and put it in gear so he stepped in front of it to stop them.

The driver pulled forward and hit Curtis in the hand, police said.

Police said the van had Pennsylvania registration and the license plate included the letters DPK. The van had tinted windows.

One of the men was wearing an orange jacket with a green hat.

Man accused of DUI in Dec. 22 accident

SCOTLAND, Pa. - A Fayetteville, Pa., man was injured last week after his car struck a utility pole while he driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Christopher Urey, 25, was charged with driving under the influence, police said.

Police said Urey was south on Pa. 696 in a 1991 Ford Festiva when his car left the roadway at 1:50 a.m. Dec. 22 and struck a utility pole north of Woods Road in Southampton Township.

Police determined Urey's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit. He was treated for a broken arm.
