Hancock Town Council candidate drops out of race

A Hancock council candidate has dropped out of the Town Council race in the Jan. 29 election.

Michael Sutphin, 39, said that at the suggestion of some local residents, he ran for office although he has no political experience.

In mid-December, Sutphin, who moved to Hancock eight years ago from the Annapolis area, decided to stop out of the race, he said.

Town Councilmen Greg Yost and Darwin Mills are seeking re-election to four-year terms. They will be challenged by James Ward and John Norris.
