Police investigate hit-and-run accident

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police were investigating a hit-and-run-accident that happened Wednesday evening in Guilford Township.

Kelly Renee Green, 23, of Chambersburg, Pa., was not injured when her 1995 Pontiac Sunfire was struck at 5:25 p.m. as it was stopped at the intersection of Pa. 316 and Church Road, police said.

The car that hit Green fled the scene.

Police said they were continuing the investigation and planned to release further information soon.

Accident leaves man with minor injuries

MONT ALTO, Pa. - A Pennsylvania man was injured Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle he was driving was rear-ended while he was waiting to make a left turn on a Mont Alto, Pa., road, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Arthur Frechette, 46, of Waynesboro, was treated at Waynesboro Hospital for minor injuries, police said.

The accident happened when Frechette's car was stopped on Pa. 997 near Walnut Street to make a left turn and was rear-ended by a car driven by Marguerite Kiersz, police said.


Kiersz, 52, of Waynesboro, was not injured in the accident.

Police have not filed any charges.

Tools stolen from car parked outside bar

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg Police are looking for information on a car theft outside of Chambersburg establishment Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Randall E. Brewer, 548 N. Franklin St., Chambersburg, told police his 1981 Pontiac Grand LeMans was parked adjacent to Cabbage Patch, 460 Grant St., Wednesday afternoon.

The dark green car with Pennsylvania registration CD57326 was parked there between 1 and 2:30 p.m., police said.

Several tools were taken from the car's trunk and back seat.

The tools included a Dewalt circular saw, a Dewalt electric planer, two plastic saw horses, a Dewalt cordless drill and a black Kobalt toolbox with various hand tools inside, police said.

Police did not know the total value of the items stolen.

$900 worth of compact discs taken

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - About $900 in compact discs were taken from a Chambersburg man's pickup truck this week, Chambersburg Police said.

Jeremiah E. Smith, 245 W. King St., said about 50 compact discs and his car registration and insurance cards were taken from his Toyota pickup parked in the rear of his residence between 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. Monday, police said.
