He was a contributor to Fulton County News with his weekly poems and published 12 volumes of more than 700 poems he wrote. He edited and produced the weekly church bulletin, The Assistant Pastor, which went to 13 foreign countries and many U.S. states.

He is survived by his wife, Madeline Lander Kunkel of Hancock, whom he married Aug. 13, 1978; two daughters, Kaye Naylor of Foxboro, Mass., and Beverly O'Neil of Rivera Beach, Fla.; one son, Ralph R. Kunkel Jr., of Orleans, Mass.; two stepdaughters, Deborah Hixon of Arlington, Va., and Dena Hixon of Tacoma Park, Md.; two sisters, Kathryn Doyle of Thomasville, Pa., and Bernice Uffelman of York, Pa.; one brother, Elmer Kunkel of Tulsa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; three stepgranddaughters; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Revs. Allen Joines and Robert Seek will officiate. Burial will be in Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Thompson Road, in Needmore, Pa.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home which will open at 4 p.m.

Tessa S. Rogers

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Tessa S. "Corky" Rogers, 16, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.

Born Feb. 11, 1984, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Junior Faircloth, Brenda Rogers Robinson and her stepfather, William Lee Robinson, all of Martinsburg.

She was an 11th-grade student at Martinsburg High School.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by five sisters, Tammy Davis of Inwood, W.Va., Loretta Rogers, Shirley Faircloth and Sissa Milburn, all of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and Deanna Smith of Charles Town, W.Va.; five brothers, Wesley Faircloth, Guy Faircloth, Jeff Faircloth, Randy Faircloth and Stephen Milburn, all of Gerrardstown; grandparents, Audrey Faircloth of Gerrardstown and Eugene Rogers of Martinsburg; three aunts, four uncles, and 36 nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Johnny Faircloth will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Catherine A. Mauck

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Catherine A. Mauck, 51, of Shepherdstown, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at City Hospital.

Born April 24, 1949, in Allegany County, Md., she was the daughter of Catherine Alice Lloyd Potts of Fort Ashby, W.Va., and the late John Lester Potts.

She was a 1967 graduate of Ridgeley (W.Va.) High School, and a 1974 graduate of Shepherd College.

She was a fifth-grade teacher at Opequon Elementary School in Martinsburg, W.Va., for 26 years.

She was a former president of West Virginia Jaycee Women and was active in the organ-donation program.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by two sons, John Mauck of Germantown, Md., and Sean Mauck of Hagerstown; three sisters, Leslie Harris and Carolyn Hochard, both of Short Gap, W.Va., and Jackie Rodeheaver of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; one brother, Michael J. Potts Sr., of Clearville, Pa.; a close friend, Gary Brown of Shepherdstown; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. James D. Riley Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Opequon Elementary School, 310 East Road, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Gordon R. Voelker

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Gordon R. Voelker, 74, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in City Hospital.

Born Oct. 26, 1926, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edward and Elsie Frye Voelker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Buerger Voelker.

He retired from General Motors in 1990; and had been working as a customer safety officer at Charles Town Races.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.

He was a member and church councilman of St. John's Lutheran Church.

He was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose.

He is survived by one daughter, Pamela Voelker of Jones Spring, W.Va.; two sons, Russell Voelker of Martinsburg and Keith Voelker of Kearneysville, W.Va.; two sisters, Hazel Wiegand of Niagara Falls and Audrey Haseley of Calabash, N.C.; one brother, Kenneth Voelker of Niagara Falls; one grandson; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Andrees, Alfredia Andrees and Leona Pollard; one brother, Melvin Voelker; and one grandson.
