Mary R. Overholtz

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Ruth Overholtz, 78, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Nov. 29, 1922, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Aden Walker and Edna Lee Braithwaite Lamp.

She was a clerk at Patterson's Drug Store.

She is survived by two sons, Donald L. Overholtz of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Ronald W. Overholtz of Martinsburg; three sisters, Helen Maxine Vorous of Berryville, Va., Meta Olivia Lloyd and Jane M. Lamp, both of Martinsburg; a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred C. Miller.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.




Mark D. Bittner

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Mark Douglas Bittner, 30, of Falling Waters, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Rosewood Center in Owings Mills, Md.

Born May 6, 1970, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of Charles A. and Marjorie Ann Morton Bittner of Falling Waters.

He was a former football player at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, Md., during 1985 through 1986.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Cheryl A. Bittner of Germantown, Deborah L. Mayer of Damascus, Md., and Susan M. Manning of Adamstown, Md.; four brothers, Charles A. Bittner and Gregory R. Bittner, both of Germantown, Ronald D. Bittner of Williamsport and Robert P. Bittner of Frederick, Md.; and 18 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
