Drug investigation leads to 11 arrests



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg Police picked up 11 people Wednesday on warrants generated by a 2 1/2-month drug investigation, police report.

The Crime Impact Team of the Chambersburg Police Department has targeted about 20 suspects with 49 criminal charges based on the investigation this fall.

The charges range from delivery to conspiracy and include criminal use of a communication facility, which involves the use of a pager, cellphone or other electronic device as part of a drug transaction.

The 11 charged Wednesday were arraigned by District Justice Gary Carter and remanded to Franklin County Prison in lieu of varying amounts of bail.

The following were picked up in the warrant sweep operation:

-- Mark Thompson, 587 S. Main St., Chambersburg, was charged with criminal use of communication facility and criminal attempt.

-- Cordell Burnett, 602 Hollywell Ave., Chambersburg, was charged with criminal use of communication facility and criminal attempt.

-- Cassandra Daniels, 602 Hollywell Ave., Chambersburg, was charged with delivery and conspiracy.

-- Charles E. Vanbrakle, 533 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, was charged with two counts of delivery, two counts of conspiracy and criminal use of communication facility.

-- Felix Vilsaint, 789 S. Second St., was charged with delivery.

-- Dante Darby, Franklin County Prison, was charged with delivery.

-- Frazier Mathews Jr., 433 Woodside Drive, Chambersburg, was charged with two counts of delivery.

-- Denise Gaines, Franklin County Prison, was charged with four counts of delivery and three counts of conspiracy.

-- David J. King, 13457 Mockingbird Lane, Roxbury, Pa., was charged with five counts of delivery and three counts of conspiracy.

-- Gerald Taylor, 1668 Frank Road, Chambersburg, was charged with delivery and criminal attempt.

-- David Thomas, Jr., 134 Ohio Drive, Chambersburg, was charged with delivery.

Police said they plan to continue these drug sweeps.
