BOONSBORO - Together, Everyone Achieves More.

That message is found on the warm-up jerseys of the Boonsboro Warriors.

The first letters of each of the four words spell out the word: T-E-A-M.

Boonsboro executed very well as a team during the fourth quarter, because it had six different players score down the stretch.

That well-balanced scoring attack in the final period helped the Warriors defeat the Clear Spring Blazers 54-44 on Friday night in a Washington County high school boys basketball game.

"It is good that six guys scored in the fourth quarter for us," Boonsboro coach Chuck Ingram said. "That was good team basketball. We only had seven turnovers against their pressure and that was really good on our part. We have been working a lot on that in practice."

Eric Vesely finished with 18 points and five rebounds, while Justin Malott added 11 points and three steals for the Warriors. Adam Miller, who is a 6-foot-7 center, grabbed nine rebounds for Boonsboro (2-1).

Justin Michael had 13 points and five rebounds, while Will Worthington added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Blazers (0-4).

"We missed lots of opportunities down the stretch, which is a sign that we haven't been in a lot of tight games," Clear Spring coach Daryl Hunsberger said.
