Ombudsmen can answer your questions



Ombudsmen, or citizen representatives, in each state can answer questions and handle complaints about long-term care facilities.

Maryland residents should contact their local county office. The numbers are 301-790-0275 in Washington County and 1-301-694-1605 in Frederick County.

In West Virginia, the state ombudsman in Charleston can be reached at 1-304-558-2241, ext. 36, or by e-mail at lmedley@boss.state.wv.us.

Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties are part of a region with its own ombudsman, who is available at 1-304-788-6770 or 1-800-834-0598.

The Pennsylvania Department of Aging has a state ombudsman in Harrisburg. The phone number is 1-717-783-7247 and the e-mail address is jobrien@aging.state.pa.us.

A local ombudsman can be reached at the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging at 1-717-263-2153. The ombudsman for Fulton County is at the Huntingdon/Bedford/Fulton Area Agency on Aging in Bedford. The phone number is 1-814-623-8149 and the e-mail address is hbfaaa@nb.net.
