Here are some of the calls we have received lately:

"Does anyone know what happened to Tom and Sandy who worked at the ice cream place? We really miss them and their chili. It is not the same without you guys."

"If you want to save money on gas, go to Sheetz on Md. 63 and U.S. 40. Gas is a $1.38 per gallon. Every where else it is $1.49 per gallon."

"I want to thank the seven ladies that helped arrange, collect and wrap nearly 300 presents for Operation Santa and all the Beaver Creek Christian Church Congregation that who willingly donated out of love, items to be wrapped and taken to Turning Point. The reception was held on Thursday, Dec. 7. They overwhelmingly supported us in the past 20 years that we have been taking things to Turning Point. Thanks again, Beaver Creek Christian Church."

"Seems to be a lot of misinformed people with this election. You really have no clue do you? Democrats say count every vote, count every vote, every vote has been counted at least twice. The only ones that weren't counted were the ones that were done incorrectly. They want those counted. On the other hand, they don't want the overseas ballots counted, because of a technicality on the application form."

"Could anyone tell me where I can find South High jackets, hats or sweat shirts for sale?"

"I hope that Al Gore becomes president because I like a man that stands up for himself. We don't need a man that will follow daddy when he knows himself that he will not make a good president."

"I wanted to respond to the person who called in about consumer prices rising and Clinton is still president. Why is this happening? It is because we don't know who the next president is so everything will continue as it was."

"I would like to remind the employees of the downtown area that the parking meters covered with free parking bags are for the benefit of shoppers and patrons. They are not for all-day parking."

"I want to comment on the WQCM format change. I think it is great."

"I want to thank my fellow employees on the dock and the two visual people at the bon ton who had a terrific birthday party for me on Wednesday, Dec. 6. At this time of year when it is hustle bustle, they took the time to have me a nice party. They are a bunch of nice people to work with. I also want to thank the rest of the employees for wishing me a happy birthday. It really means a lot when you know people still care. Thank you, Martha."

"To the parents of Western Heights Middle School students. How about finding a little more constructive activity for your children as they walk to and from school instead of kicking all the residents trash bags and their litter everywhere. How about teaching them some respect for a change."

"A comment for the little girl who works at Clara's Corner on Thursday's. I come up from Frederick to do some shopping last Thursday. She just couldn't do enough to help me in there. She has to be the most outgoing personality I have ever seen. She is truly an asset to the business. She is a great employee. I hope Clara knows what she has."
