Alfred N. Myers

YORK, Pa. - Alfred N. Myers, 78, of Colonial Manor Nursing Home and formerly of 202 Jackson St., York; Mercersburg, Pa. and Chambersburg, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born Aug. 5, 1922, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Andrew N. and Eleanor Freedman Myers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane M. Rockwell Myers, in 1979.

He was a former employee of JC Penney Co. He worked for 26 years, from 1958 to 1984, for Sears Roebuck and Co. in York, as manager of the catalog department.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign.

He was a member of Clarence Armstrong VFW Post 6241 of Mercersburg.

He is survived by three sons, Gary N. Myers and Dennis I. Myers, both of York and Terry L. Myers of Media, Pa.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave. in Mercersburg. Pastor Michael L. Baughman will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.

There will be no public viewing.

Roberta J. Lininger

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Roberta Jean "Jeanie" Lininger, 54, of 638 Mickey Inn Road, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Feb. 17, 1946, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Mary C. Burrall Lininger of Chambersburg and the late George S. Lininger.

She worked for Rieves-Hoffman in Carlisle, Pa., for 17 years. Later, she worked for G.S. Electric in Carlisle for a year before transferring to the Chambersburg plant for seven years.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sisters, E. Louise Lininger and Nancy Wagner, both of Chambersburg and Janet Bittinger of Key West, Fla.; and five brothers, G. Richard Lininger of Waynesboro, Pa., Robert Lininger of Carlisle, Ronald Lininger, Gerald Lininger and Michael Lininger, all of Chambersburg.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. Pastor K. Allan Mummert will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Marie A. Titus

Marie Ann Titus, 81, of Avalon Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Shennandale, W.Va.




Denese N. D'Aquino

Denese Noel D'Aquino, 31, of 1100 Woodland Way, Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, is survived by three sisters, Diane Landskroener of Chestertown, Md., Debbie D'Aquino of San Pedro, Calif. and Donna D'Aquino of Baltimore.




Ruth M. Hoover

Ruth M. Hoover, 85, of 1060 View St., Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Washington County Hospital, is also survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Gammache, Freeda Lowell and Ann Aerisman; and a brother Fred Denlinger.




James B. Creager Sr.

FREDERICK, Md. - James B. Creager Sr., 77, of 6804 Amelano Drive, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at his home.

Born July 26, 1923, in Frederick, he was the son of the late John and Elsie Creager.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Schultz Creager.

He had worked as a carpenter.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He received several medals including the Purple Heart.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 1067 of Frederick.

He is survived by seven children, Sandra Eury, Terry Biser, Sue Gift and April Branham, all of Frederick, James B. Creager Jr. of Adamstown, Md., Jeffrey Creager of Stroudsburg, Pa. and Holly Tribett of Fairplay; a sister, Rebecca Randall of Manassas, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St. in Frederick. The Rev. Calvin T. LaVigne, associate pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Guy W. Wright

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Guy Ward Wright, 74, of Union Avenue, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born in Darksville, W.Va., he was the son of the late James and Blanche Butler Wright.

He retired from Corning Glass.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He attended Mountain View Church of the Brethren.

He was a member of American Legion Post 202 of Williamsport.
