Whittington's Outlook: "Everyone's wondering if we're going to be as good as last year. We've won 37 straight duals (3-0 this year) but we've lost three wrestlers with a combined 150 wins last year. You just don't replace them. We're also fighting the flu season. If we can get through the flu season and our kids from last year step up like we think they can, we'll be all right."

Coach: Scott Fortney, 1st season
Last season's record: 27-6

Returning Letterwinners: Seniors Devin Abshire (46-7, 76-14 career, 5th in state), Andre McDonald (40-5, 5th in state), Drew Day (23-14, state qualifier), Warren Stewart, Rob Osuch (30-18); Juniors Chantz Griffith (44-7, 4th in state), Dustin Householder (275, 40-14, 6th in state), Ryan Smith (20-16).

Top Newcomers: Senior Ryan Fierro; Sophomores Tyler Moore, Danny Schneider, Steve Reynolds, Daryl Dorsey, Justin Hawes, Evan Whelan, Artie Badger, Sam Wyndham.

Fortney's Outlook: "The team is looking for a good year with the return of four state placewinners, a number of wrestlers who showed improvement last year, and a large group of sophomores with junior high experience. With an upgraded schedule, improvement over last year's record might be tough even if we have a better team. We will be wrestling very tough competition to prepare for the post season and have several individuals with high aspirations at states."

Coach: Steve Britner, 11th season

Returning Letterwinners: Seniors Sean Agoney (145, 31-14), Travis Durst (152, 41-10, 6th in states), Joe Jackson (171, 42-7, 4th in states, 106 career wins); Juniors Brandon Kolb (103), Bill Barbour (135), Justin Kessler (140, 38-15, 5th in states), Justin Bird (160), Travis Castleman (189); Sophomores Curtis Greeg (112), Blaine Durst (130), Ryan Bird (275).

Top Newcomers: Senior Justin McDonald (189); Freshmen Mike Barbour (119), Eric Kessler (125), Wes Greer (215).

Britner's Outlook: "We're looking for great leadership from the state placers as well as from Sean Agoney. We wrestle a really aggressive schedule, and we hope that this will convert into a good state showing in February. We are really thin in numbers."

Coach: Mark Cagle

Returning Letterwinners: Seniors Philip Nowack (140), Victor Beard (145-152, 41-6, 5th in state), Mike Triggs (145-152), Mike Renner (215); Juniors Raymond Watkins (160), Brad Wright (189), B.J. Pruitt (275); Sophomores Justin Jones (152), Kendall Hudson (130), Joey Bott (171).

Top Newcomers: Juniors Jeff Clark (103), Josh Suddeth (140); Sophomores Travis Hall (112), Nate Dempsey (135); Freshman Jordan Bott (119).

Cagle's Outlook: "This is really our third year back and we were thinking this would be our best year coming back. But we have a very young team overall, a lot of inexperience, so we're still looking two years down the road. We will have a better year based on what we have. We expect our seniors to carry our team this year."
